ProfitWire Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how ProfitWire LLC ("ProfitWire," "we," "our") uses cookies and browser storage on getprofitwire.com and within the ProfitWire application at app.getprofitwire.com. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which contains our detailed analytics disclosure.

1. Cookies and Browser Storage

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser and sent back to a website. Browser local storage is a separate area in your browser where a website can keep information on your device; it is not sent automatically with each request. We use both, and this policy says which is used for each purpose.

2. What We Use

2.1 Sign-in sessions (browser local storage)

Sign-in sessions are issued by our authentication provider and held in your browser's local storage, not in a cookie. They allow you to remain signed in until you sign out, your session is no longer valid with our authentication provider, or your account is deleted. Signing out removes the session from your browser. This storage is required to use the signed-in parts of ProfitWire.

2.2 Preferences

  • sidebar_state (cookie, 7 days): remembers whether the app sidebar is open or collapsed.
  • pw:install-skipped (cookie, 1 year, and local storage): remembers that you chose to continue in the browser instead of installing the app.
  • Local storage is also used to remember dismissed banners and prompts, onboarding progress, a selected plan before checkout, and recently loaded screen data so pages can display while refreshing.

These are not required to sign in but improve the experience.

2.3 Google Analytics 4 (third-party analytics)

We use Google Analytics 4, operated by Google, to measure website traffic and marketing performance. Google Analytics sets its own cookies (such as _ga) for the durations Google determines. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled, and page addresses are sent without query strings or fragments. We do not send your financial records or marketplace access credentials to Google Analytics.

2.4 ProfitWire product analytics

We use the HeyCatch analytics service to understand page views and feature usage. It stores an anonymous identifier in a cookie (named ph_…_posthog, up to 1 year) and in local storage, and links that identifier to your account after you sign in. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

2.5 ProfitWire marketing attribution (first-party cookies)

  • pw_aid (cookie, 90 days): a randomly generated identifier used to associate an initial marketing visit with a later ProfitWire registration.
  • pw_attr (cookie, 90 days): limited marketing attribution information, including supported campaign parameters, landing page and referring site, for your first and most recent visits.

These cookies are set by our website and read by the application when you register. The application may also keep the acquisition identifier in local storage until it is recorded with your account. They are not required for sign-in or core application features, and they do not contain passwords, financial records or marketplace access credentials.

2.6 Advertising cookies

We do not currently run advertising or remarketing cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy.

3. Third-Party Services

In addition to Google Analytics and HeyCatch, our payment processor (Stripe, on checkout pages) and our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare) may set cookies needed to operate their services. Their use of cookies is governed by their own privacy notices.

4. Managing Cookies and Storage

  • You can view, clear or block cookies and site data, including local storage, through your browser settings.
  • Clearing site data will sign you out; blocking local storage prevents sign-in.
  • Browser controls may not prevent every form of analytics collection, depending on your browser and settings.
  • ProfitWire does not currently offer a cookie banner or an in-app setting for analytics choices.

5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

ProfitWire does not currently change its behavior in response to browser "Do Not Track" or Global Privacy Control signals. For questions about your privacy choices, see our Privacy Policy or contact us.
