Delete Your ProfitWire Account

ProfitWire is operated by ProfitWire, LLC. You can request permanent deletion of your ProfitWire account and its associated data at any time — from inside the app, from this page, or by email. You do not need the ProfitWire Android app installed to make the request, and you do not need to be signed in to read this page.

Deletion is not deactivation

Permanent deletion is different from simply signing out, disabling sign-in, or deactivating an account. Once the grace period below ends, your ProfitWire account and its associated data are permanently erased from our production systems — the account cannot be reactivated, restored, or recovered, and the data is not retained in a dormant or suspended state. The only exception is the pseudonymized financial records described under “What we must retain”, which no longer identify you.

Before you delete

  • Export any data you want to keep — see the Data Request page.
  • If you subscribed through Google Play: deleting your ProfitWire account does not cancel that subscription. Google requires Play subscriptions to be cancelled in Google Play — open the Play Store → profile icon → Payments & subscriptionsSubscriptions → ProfitWire → Cancel subscription. Do this before requesting deletion, or Google Play will keep billing you.
  • If you subscribed on the web (Stripe): requesting deletion cancels that subscription automatically. No refunds are issued for unused portions of the current billing period.
  • Disconnect marketplaces you have connected. Deletion also revokes these tokens automatically, but disconnecting first is a good sanity check.

How to delete

  • In the Android app: open Settings → Account → Delete account. This opens the ProfitWire account-deletion flow in your browser, where you confirm and the deletion is scheduled immediately.
  • On the web (recommended): Sign in and open Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete account. You confirm your password, type DELETE, and the deletion is scheduled immediately — no email or manual review required.
  • By email — no app or sign-in required: send a request to support@getprofitwire.com from the email address on your account, with the subject “Account deletion request”. We verify the request against the email on file and then schedule the same deletion described below.

What happens immediately

  • Sign-in is blocked and you are signed out of every device (this is the start of deletion, not a deactivation you can return from after the grace period).
  • Any active web (Stripe) subscription is cancelled; you will not be billed again by ProfitWire. A Google Play subscription must be cancelled by you in Google Play.
  • Marketplace OAuth tokens (eBay and any other connected marketplaces) are revoked and deleted; further sync stops immediately.
  • Scheduled jobs, imports, and background workflows attached to your account are stopped.

30-day grace period

For 30 days after a deletion request, your account is retained in a disabled state: the app is inaccessible apart from a single "Deletion scheduled" screen. During this window you can cancel the deletion yourself by signing in and re-entering your password on that screen — a safety net against accidental or malicious requests. If you cannot sign in, email us and we will verify you before cancelling.

Permanent deletion

After the 30-day grace period an automated job permanently deletes your account and associated personal data from our production systems. The job runs in resumable steps, so a partial failure is retried rather than leaving your data half-removed. Encrypted backups that include your data are rotated on a rolling schedule and residual copies are removed within 90 days of the production deletion.

Categories of associated data deleted:

  • Authentication and profile — your login credentials, sign-in account, profile, roles, onboarding state, and legal-acceptance links.
  • Inventory and operations — inventory items, cost basis, bulk pools, imports, ProfitScan / RipTracker sessions and cards, valuations, and report generations.
  • Uploaded images and files — every card image and file stored under your account.
  • Marketplace data — eBay connection and OAuth tokens (revoked and deleted), listings, listing prep, publish attempts, sync history, and imported marketplace records held in ProfitWire. (The corresponding records inside eBay itself are not affected.)
  • Entitlement and referral records — internal plan grants, referral codes, referral events, and referral credit state.
  • App diagnostics and activity — device/session records, client error reports, activity and analytics events tied to your account. Aggregated, non-identifying metrics may remain.
  • Support requests — personal data in support tickets and email threads is anonymized.

What we must retain

We are required by law to keep certain records even after account deletion, including:

  • Financial and transaction records — 7 years. Sales, purchases, expenses, invoices, payouts, refunds, disputes, subscription and store-purchase records, and the period reconciliations built from them. Your personal identifiers on these rows are replaced with a non-reversible pseudonym at deletion, so the records no longer identify you.
  • Security, deletion and billing audit logs — 7 years. Records that a deletion happened, and anti-fraud, anti-money-laundering and dispute-resolution evidence. These carry the pseudonym, not your identity.
  • Anonymous card / market reference data — retained indefinitely. Card identity, fingerprint and market-comparable records contributed by your use are detached from you (your identifier is replaced with a pseudonym or removed) and kept as anonymous reference data.
  • Information reasonably necessary to defend legal claims that arose before deletion, for as long as the claim period runs.
  • Encrypted backups — up to 90 days. Backups taken before deletion expire on their rolling schedule; residual copies are gone within 90 days of the production deletion.

Retained records are stored on a restricted-access basis, are used only for the purpose that requires retention, and are deleted once no longer required.

Third parties

Payment records held by Stripe and purchase records held by Google Play follow those providers' own retention policies; we cannot delete them on your behalf. Marketplaces such as eBay retain their own copies of your listings, orders, and account data; contact those services directly to exercise rights there.
