Delete Your ProfitWire Account

You can permanently delete your ProfitWire account at any time. This page explains exactly what happens, what is deleted, and what we must retain for legal or accounting reasons.

Before you delete

  • Export any data you want to keep — see the Data Request page.
  • Cancel your paid subscription (if any) from the billing portal. Deleting your account will also cancel any active subscription, but no refunds will be issued for unused portions of the current billing period.
  • Disconnect marketplaces you have connected. Deletion also revokes these tokens automatically, but disconnecting first is a good sanity check.

How to delete

  • In-app: Sign in and open Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account.
  • By email: Send a signed-in-email request to support@getprofitwire.com. We will verify the request against the email on file before processing.

What happens immediately

  • Your account is disabled and you are signed out of every device.
  • Any active subscription is cancelled. You will not be billed again.
  • Marketplace OAuth tokens (eBay and any other connected marketplaces) are revoked and deleted; further sync stops immediately.
  • Scheduled jobs, imports, and background workflows attached to your account are stopped.

30-day grace period

For 30 days after a deletion request, your account is retained in a disabled, inaccessible state. During this window you can email us to cancel the deletion — a useful safety net against accidental or malicious requests.

Permanent deletion

After the 30-day grace period we permanently delete your account and associated personal data from our production systems. Encrypted backups that include your data are rotated on a rolling schedule and residual copies are removed within 90 days of the production deletion.

  • Inventory records, sales, imports, ProfitScan / RipTracker sessions, and uploaded images: deleted.
  • Marketplace listings, orders, and sync history stored in ProfitWire: deleted. (The corresponding records inside the marketplace itself are not affected.)
  • Support tickets and email threads: personal data anonymized; aggregated diagnostics may be retained.
  • Analytics events: personal identifiers removed; aggregated, non-identifying metrics may be retained.

What we must retain

We are required by law to keep certain records even after account deletion, including:

  • Invoices, receipts, tax records, and other financial records — typically for up to 7 years.
  • Records necessary to comply with anti-fraud, anti-money-laundering, or dispute-resolution obligations.
  • Information reasonably necessary to defend legal claims that arose before deletion.

Retained records are stored on a restricted-access basis, are used only for the purpose that requires retention, and are deleted once no longer required.

Third parties

Payment records held by Stripe follow Stripe's own retention policy; we cannot delete them on your behalf. Marketplaces such as eBay retain their own copies of your listings, orders, and account data; contact those services directly to exercise rights there.
